Radiology

The radiology department consists of 1 radiologist, 23 radiological technologist and 2 nurses.
We are engaged in X-ray, CT scan, MRI, X-ray TV, Radioisotopic and Angiographic services under the policies: Be the center of radiological therapy and provide best and safe services, Be aspirant and adopt daily-improved radiological therapy.

The main testing machinery

Computed Tomography
CT scan is a medical device to image the inside of a human body by processing the X-ray data which passes through the body.
Service with a Brilliance CT 64-channel scanner and a GE LightSpeed Ultra 8 Slice CT.
The 64-channnel scanner has 64 rows of detectors, which enable us to image more widely, faster and finer.
These features make it possible to examine in the way the former CT scanners could not perform.
For example, the new CT scan is able to complete a whole body examination within a single breath holding, which alleviate the patient's burden.
And with a contrast medium, the scanners can image a vascular malformation, a gallstone, a tumor, etc. that a plain CT could hardly detect.
Due to the high-speed processing data, we get three-dimensional images in various angles in short time, which makes it more accurate diagnosis.
Magnetic resonance imaging
MRI stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging, which utilizes strong magnet (a magnetic field) and high frequency (electromagnetic waves) to move hydrogen nuclei and get a image of it.
Since the device utilize magnetism to observe inside the body, usually MRI test is a harmless examination without radiation exposure.
We have installed the two high-resolution and high-quality MRI scanners, "Signa Excite III" of GE Yokogawa and "Intera Achieva" of Philips for examination.
MRI is mostly used to examine the head, the spine and the joints, etc.
For example, it reveals the presence of diseases, such as cerebral infarction or aneurysms, and is suitable for the cartilage, the ligament, the meniscus, the tendon and the muscle, etc.
Furthermore, a MRI scanner can visualize the coronary arteries, the aorta and the vessels of lower limbs without a contrast medium.
It is easy to image the other organs, so it is very effective to diagnose the diseases which are difficult to diagnose by CT or X-rays.
X-ray TV
A X-ray TV is a fluoroscopic device to examine the state of the inside of the body irradiating the patient with X-ray in real time.
It is used in a gastric fluoroscopy ingesting barium agent, a intestinal fluoroscopy with barium enema and an Endoscopic Retrograde CholangioPancreatography, which images a bile duct and a pancreatic duct to find gallstones or a stricture.
It is also used while repositioning a fracture.
We have installed the two digital X-ray TV devices by Toshiba, "Ultimax" (in Gastroenterology center, 3rd floor), "WINSCOPE Plessart" (in radiology department, 1st floor) to conduct a X-ray fluoroscopy.
Radioisotope
Radioisotope is also called "Nuclear Medicine Examination".
Injecting venously a radioisotopic agent that slightly irradiates, we detect the radiation from the body to visualize the inside and to diagnose.
X-ray or CT produces images by the X-ray irradiated from outside, RI test produces images by detecting the radiation concentrated in tumors or specific organs, such as brain, heart, lungs, kidneys and bones.
For that reason, we can examine the foci inside or the conditions of specific organs.
Gained data is processed to create the computerized tomograms and the medical information to evaluate the organic function, which help selecting a treatment plan, assessing a curative effect and making a prognosis.
Our hospital have installed a "E.CAM" by Toshiba.
